You might think that being in your 20s, you have very little risk of developing any major diseases because of your lifestyle. Our sedentary lifestyle and erratic sleeping patterns are disturbing the longevity of our lives. Thus, making us fall prey to deadly diseases at a very young age.

Diabetes

Obesity is one of the leading factors for developing diabetes. As an average human spends around 7–8 hrs a day sitting, it is quite clear that his calories will get accumulated. This accumulation will further lead to obesity. In addition to our sedentary lifestyle, we consume sweet beverages and fast food more than any generation of humans.

Obesity raises us to the risk of developing the most common type of diabetes called type 2 diabetes. The good news is, reducing even a small amount of your body weight can reduce the risk of developing this diabetes by a large factor.

According to the NHS, a 5% reduction in body weight followed up by regular moderate intensity exercise could reduce your type 2 diabetes risk by more than 50%.

Colon and Rectal Cancer

This cancer normally affects people in their old age but it is becoming increasingly common among young adults. The risk is higher if somebody in your family shares a history of this cancer. The exact cause of this is not known yet but you should start to get diagnosed 10 years before the family member was diagnosed with the same.

Don’t think that you being young zeroes out the possibility of you developing this cancer. If you see blood in your stool or changes in your bowel habits, you must consult a doctor.

Cardiovascular Diseases

Obesity again leads to a lot of cardiovascular diseases like heart strokes and high blood pressure. High blood pressure is a precursor to other cardiovascular diseases. People who have high blood pressure, don’t come to know about it at an early age because there are literally no symptoms while it constantly damages your kidney, heart, brain, etc.

The major question arises that how do we adopt a fitness routine that is so easy and affordable that we keep our bodies fit throughout the day and not just while we are working out.

We bring to you just the right set of tips to get your body in the shape both physically and mentally.

Hold On a little longer…

Making exercises a daily part of your routine can be a daunting decision to undertake initially. You don’t have to spend thousands of bucks on gym memberships. Exercising can include simple steps like opting to take a walk and ditching your car to the office. It can include eating that apple over the packet of chips lying in your kitchen. Healthy choices which we make each and everyday contribute to a wholesome healthy body.

It is often said that you must be wary of your biological age over your physical age. The concept of biological age tends to be one that most people are not aware of. If you are using any anti-aging cream, then that is only going to cure your skin but your internal organs are getting older faster than you realize.

A lot of steps that you adopt today are going to determine what your life looks like in the future. Climbing that staircase will help you walk an extra mile tomorrow, taking little walking breaks amid your office hours will help you work productively even beyond 60 and see your younger generations while you are still alive. All this at the cost of that extra mile that you opt today onwards.

In the next article I will share some of the unknown and surprising tips that will make exercising a memorable experince.
